A Feast for All the Senses in the Heart of Kaiserslautern

“Wine & Music” invites visitors to Kaiserslautern’s downtown for the fifth time

On Friday and Saturday, August 21 and 22, City Management Kaiserslautern once again invites all connoisseurs and music lovers to a special experience in Kaiserslautern’s downtown. Under the motto “Pleasure Meets Sound,” the “Wine & Music” event is taking place for the fifth time and promises two atmospheric days full of enjoyment, music, and encounters in the city’s 750th anniversary year. The event kicks off on Friday, August 21, at 5 p.m. and on Saturday, August 22, at 11 a.m. The event ends at midnight on both days.

The downtown area will once again be transformed into a grand festival of indulgence. Visitors can look forward to an enjoyable wine walk through downtown, where they can discover the diversity of regional wine culture. Numerous restaurants and caterers will present their exquisite wines, seccos, and wine-based beverages not only inside their establishments but also right outside their doors. Whether it’s fresh, fruity white wines, fine red wines, sparkling seccos, or creative wine cocktails—there’s something for every taste. The diverse dishes offered by the participating restaurants perfectly round out the culinary experience.

Wine Music Bands

Music Program

The world music band Tribubu will kick off the musical festivities on Friday evening at Stiftsplatz. The group wowed audiences just this past June as the opening act for the Gipsy Kings feat. Nicolas Reyes and is now bringing its high-energy live show to Kaiserslautern. Together with the flamenco ensemble led by singer Angel Huertas, Tribubu promises a special evening full of rhythm, passion, and international sounds.

A diverse music program also awaits guests at the other event venues. For the first time this year, the Unionsviertel is part of “Wein & Musik.” The circular bench in front of the Union – Studio für Filmkunst cinema will serve as both a stage and an activity area. On Friday, DJ Stefan Hörhammer, aka Groovshaker, will set the mood with a funky disco mix. On Saturday, IC Strings and the duo “Jason & Danjiel” will take the musical reins.

St.-Martins-Platz in the Old Town will also be part of the event weekend. On Friday, Larry H Soulman will bring soulful vibes to the city center. “Times and Tales” will provide musical variety with rock and pop classics, before the Modern Blues Trio, featuring Elmar Federkeil, thrills the audience with rousing blues sounds.

Once again this year, visitors can collect points digitally. Through the “Stadt-KL” app, guests receive a digital stamp with every order. Anyone who fills up their stamp booklet completely during the two days of the event can look forward to the chance to win attractive prizes.

“Wine & Music” has long since become a fixture on the event calendar and, especially in this anniversary year, showcases just how vibrant, diverse, and hospitable Kaiserslautern is. City Management, together with the participating restaurants and bars, looks forward to welcoming numerous visitors and to two unforgettable days full of enjoyment, music, and joie de vivre.

Further information about “Wine & Music” as well as the complete program will be available well in advance of the event on the “Stadt-KL” app and through the city’s official channels.
