Children’s Festival “Fun & Action in the City”
Fun for young and old in Kaiserslautern city centre on Saturday, 16 May
The hugely popular children’s festival “Fun & Action in the City” has been a firm and indispensable fixture in Kaiserslautern’s calendar of events for years – and, of course, in this anniversary year too. This year, the children’s extravaganza organised by the “Kaiser in Lautern” advertising association, together with its member businesses and partners as well as the City of Kaiserslautern, will take place on Saturday 16 May from 11 am to 4 pm in the city centre.
On this day, there will be numerous fantastic activities and events for children and families spread throughout the city centre. Music and shows, creativity and crafts, games and fun, interesting facts and sport – the children’s festival brings an extremely varied programme to the city of Barbarossa. A special highlight will be the Pepperoni Circus, which has all sorts of hands-on activities in store, as well as Thommy the Globetrotter, who will enchant the little guests with a large creative workshop. The Emmerich Smola Music School will be performing a musical programme on the anniversary stage from 11 am to 3 pm. A ‘musicians’ mile’ where children can join in and try things out is sure to set their hearts racing. There will also be activities organised by the youth fire brigade, the Child Accident Commission and the ASB – no child will be bored here.
“We look forward to welcoming lots of visitors from near and far. Together, we have managed to put together a fantastic programme for our youngest residents, and of course the grown-ups won’t be left out either. The festival encompasses virtually the entire pedestrian zone as well as several squares such as the Altenhof, Schillerplatz, the area around the Stiftskirche, the new city centre and the beach at Willy-Brandt-Platz,” reports Alexander Heß, Managing Director of the “Kaiser in Lautern” advertising association and Head of City Management.
