Autohaus Segerer

The 90 year history of Autohaus Segerer began in 1920 when Joseph Segerer set up a garage for the repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery. The workshop expanded rapidly over the years adding bike, motorbike and moped sales and repair to the list of services. In 1930 Lanz tractors were also assembled on the premises. Joseph Segerer passed away in 1937 and the company tradition was carried on by his widow Maria until 1955 when she handed over the management to her son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Johanna Segerer. Initially Joseph and Johanna gave up the work on agricultural machines preferring to concentrate on the installation business.

In 1958 a new Shell gas station with car wash was purchased. From 1973 they maintained the gas station business only changing from Shell to AVIA in 1981. In 1986 Josef Segerer jun. opened a free car garage business and March 1988 together with Peter Segerer jun. they became an authorized Ford dealership. In November of 1992 the Segerer company took over an ESSO gas station some 300 meters away and rebuilt that into the present AVIA gas station. In 1999 the original AVIA gas station and garage was then converted and expanded with a new hall and became home for the workshops with showroom and offices for the Ford Dealership.
