Rosamunde, also known as Rose, the daughter of Count von Lauffen, was desired by two men at the same time – a love triangle that ended tragically and ultimately fatally. The drama surrounding this love affair is still unforgotten today.

The two knights Ulrich von Steinach from Neckarsteinach and Wolf von Hirschhorn asked for Rosamunde’s hand in marriage. She fell in love with Knight Wolf and was determined to marry him. However, the rejected Ulrich did not accept her decision and swore revenge. As Wolf made his way to Dilsberg to celebrate his wedding with Rose, Knight Ulrich attacked and killed the bridegroom. When Rose learned of the dastardly murder of her beloved Wolf, she threw herself from the castle wall.
