Then there are animals: horses, coaches, dressage and show-jumping competitions, a milking competition, a petting zoo; a children’s play area, and a supervised kindergarten, where children may prefer to stay and play while their parents visit other exhibits. There are crafts such as flower arranging, glass making, furniture restoration, an international bazaar with gift items from around the world, live music and many other special events.

There is a full program of things to see including travel and vacations; health and wellness; food and drink specialties from all over the world; leisure, sport and hobbies; furniture; international handcrafts; electrical appliances; fashion and cosmetics; toys; animals including bees, horses, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, pigs and goats. There are also large outdoor areas devoted to home improvements, gardening and to agricultural machinery, cars and bicycles.

The Maimarkt takes place on the Maimarktgelände, easily visible from from A656 Heidelberg-Mannheim highway.
