Visitors can look forward to shiny chrome, timeless design, and exciting automotive history. The presentation of the vehicles creates an extraordinary shopping atmosphere and gives the city center a very special flair. The highlights of the day:
3rd ADAC Trifels Classic Car Rally
The tour, organized by the Kaiserslautern Sports Drivers’ Union, starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Pfalzgalerie Museum. The route covers over 160 kilometers through the picturesque landscape of the Western Palatinate. More than 100 teams will tackle the varied route, which is peppered with games and surprises. The exact stops will remain a secret until the start – excitement is guaranteed!
Vespa meeting in the city
Vespa fans will also get their money’s worth: at 10:30 a.m., the scooter enthusiasts will start in Johanniskreuz – around 12 noon, they will arrive in the city center and present themselves in style in front of the Stiftskirche.
City tour in a classic bus
The city tour in a historic vintage bus offers a special experience. The meeting point is the Kaiserslautern Tourist Information Office, and the tour lasts about an hour. A tour in German is offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and a tour in English at 11:30 a.m. Advance registration is requested, either in person at the Tourist Information Office or by telephone at 0631 3654019. The tour costs €10 or €9 with a discount.
Music and show
The 17th Kaiserslautern Classics also offer a varied musical program with a nostalgic flair. On two stages – in front of the Stiftskirche and on Schillerplatz – musicians provide live entertainment in the style of the good old days.
In front of the Stiftskirche, the day begins at 11 a.m. with Harald Krüger solo, who will thrill the audience with his distinctive voice and soulful interpretations of well-known classics. In the afternoon, Moni Francis & Buddy Olly take over the stage and bring back the sound of the 50s and 60s between 3 and 7 p.m. – with rock ‘n’ roll, swing, and plenty of charm.
On the stage at Schillerplatz, Big Wave & the Bandits will be getting things going at 11 a.m. – the band brings rock ‘n’ roll and rhythmic classics to the streets, ensuring tapping feet and dancing petticoats. From 4 p.m., TreZZmeN will take over the musical reins. With an energetic mix of country, rock ‘n’ roll, and rock music, they will provide an atmospheric end to the day’s events until 8 p.m.
Those who prefer something a little quieter but just as atmospheric should not miss the performance of the choir “Forever Young.” Starting at 11 a.m., the singers will perform at various locations in the city center and delight audiences with classics from several decades – goose bump moments included.
