The Lautrer Christmas market! Let yourself be enchanted by the harmonious atmosphere, immerse yourself in the festive Christmas spirit with friends and family. A particularly beautiful event in this contemplative pre-Christmas period and a wonderful harbinger of Christmas invites you to stroll and linger again from November 20.
The Christmas stalls on Schillerplatz and around the collegiate church will make you feel the magic of the festive season. Be inspired by the joy and love of Christmas. Coziness and hospitality everywhere, the smell of roasted almonds and hearty treats from the grill, beautiful decorations and warming mulled wine. A great opportunity to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and soak up the Christmas atmosphere. And just as good an opportunity for shopping: Whether traditional arts and crafts, fine Christmas tree decorations or delicious Christmas delicacies, there is something to suit every taste at the Lautr Christmas market. Entertainment is also provided with a varied supporting program and lots of music.
The Lautr Christmas Market is a place to immerse yourself in the festive Christmas spirit with friends and family and experience unforgettable moments.
From December 27 to December 30, we also invite all visitors to enjoy the special atmosphere of the New Year’s Eve market before the gates close at the turn of the year.

Enchanting Christkind
There is undoubtedly Christmas magic in the air when the question arises again: Who will be the Lautr Christkind 2023? In close cooperation with Antenne Kaiserslautern 96,9, the enthusiastic Christmas lovers from Kaiserslautern have chosen the Lautr Christkind. This year, 20-year-old Claudia can look forward to her heavenly duties.
Mayor Beate Kimmel and the Lautr Christkind Claudia opened the Lautr Christmas market on Schillerplatz on November 20 at 6:00 pm. Monday evening and wished all Kaiserslautern residents and guests a wonderful pre-Christmas season.

Contemplative moments around the collegiate church
Go on a journey of discovery! Enchanting stalls, a large nativity scene and a crackling campfire invite you to enjoy the contemplative atmosphere. And on the following days, the animals from the Kaiserslautern petting zoo will be visiting and filling the inner courtyard with life:

Free local public transport within Kaiserslautern on all four Advent Saturdays
In Kaiserslautern, local public transport buses can be used free of charge on all Advent Saturdays.This applies to all SWK-Verkehrs AG bus routes in the city area (Wabe 800).The free bus service is intended to save visitors to the city the often tiresome search for a parking space and enable them to enjoy a relaxed shopping spree through the city.
The night bus surcharge from Saturday to Sunday will also be waived for night owls. The night buses from Friday to Saturday are not subject to free transportation as they still fall within the Friday timetable.

Until December 23, the Kaiserslautern Christmas market offers a colorful bouquet of inspiration and entertainment. But there’s also plenty to keep you going longer: from December 27 to December 30, the now traditional New Year’s Eve market will sweeten the time between the years. All visitors are invited to enjoy the special atmosphere in the city center before the gates are closed at the turn of the year.

Luther Club Band meets Christmas
The Christmas market opens with an absolute highlight! The Luther Club Band! The line-up is packed with top-class artists from the national and international music scene, who will provide unique entertainment on this evening with soul, funk and R&B. Dates: 20.11., 24.11., 08.12.
Neon light
Probably the most exciting newcomer formation in German-language pop hits will electrify the “Lautrer Advent” with gripping sounds and rousing lyrics! Dates: 25.11., 22.12.
Janet Taylor & Word Up Band
Together Janet & Uli offer a colorful mix of songs from various genres such as soul, jazz, funk & pop, which they interpret in their own way with lots of soul, groove and spirit. Dates: 03.12. 17.12.
Rick Cheyenne
Rick Cheyenne’s musical style ranges from blues to soul, rock’n’roll, country and pop. Swing and oldies are also part of his repertoire. Rick Cheyenne feels out the desired style in interaction with the guests.

“In the Christmas Bakery…
… there’s many a treat …”
“And when the cookies we cut , . . … lay on the oven trays…
then there’s a lot going on again in the “Christmas bakery”. This year, the bakery is located at the Altenhof for the first time and will be open from November 21. Supported by the Barbarossa bakery, Sparkasse Kaiserslautern and Zelte Knörr, children can bake Christmas cookies to their heart’s content on 75 square meters.
On weekdays, children from local schools and kindergartens bake, at weekends all children are welcome to bake without prior registration, free of charge of course!
The Christmas bakery is open on weekdays from 11:00 to 16:30, on Saturdays from 11:00 to 17:00 and on Sundays from 14:00 to 18:00 from November 21 to December 20, 2023.
