Gelterswoog medieval market
Thursday 3 thru Sunday 6 October
Four day program over the weekend on the park lands of the Gelterswoog lido.
The lido operators in cooperation with the organizer Lorraine Médiévale will present the four-day medieval market held on the park lawns of the Gelterswoog lido. The mini-golf course will also open during the festivities.
Boris Zeller from the lido team is expecting 500 to 1000 visitors a day, weather permitting. He also hopes that the spectacle will attract new visitors for the coming bathing season. “Not everyone knows about the Gelterswoog . . . yet,” he says.
Carolan Lieb from Lorraine Médiévale, an agency for medieval markets and themed festivals from Vöklingen, has already been a guest in Trippstadt, and is looking forward to the three-day hustle and bustle. “Many people come to us to escape from reality for once, with knights and jesters, splendor and glory. A market like this can offer a lot, especially for families with children. and those who come in costume only have to pay a reduced entrance fee.”

Shoemakers. clay builders, blacksmiths, leatherworkers and saddlers, bow and arrow makers will be demonstrating their crafts. According to the organizers, there will also be numerous stalls selling mead and herbs, glass beads, wooden objects, fur products, pottery, brooches and precious stones. According to Lieb, there is even an expert on first names, as well as an extensive the gastronomic offer, ranging from tarte flambée and currywurst to bull ribs and knight’s Ritterwatte. You’ll find mead beer flowing in the tavern.
Music, magicians, a fire show and more . . .
