Lautrer Kerwe from October 17 to 27, 2025
A folk festival with heart, high spirits, and highlights

When autumn arrives, it’s Kerwe time in Kaiserslautern. From October 17 to 27, 2025, the Lautrer Kerwe invites you to eleven days of fun, enjoyment, and good cheer.

On Friday, October 17, the gates of the popular folk festival will open at 5 p.m. The official starting signal will be given, as is tradition, by the Werkvolkfanfarenzug marching band, which will parade through the festival grounds on Schwarzwaldstraße at 6:30 p.m. This will be followed at 7 p.m. by the traditional tapping of the keg by Mayor Manfred Schulz at the Lössel tent – the official start of the festivities in a convivial atmosphere.

At the end of the evening, at around 9 p.m., visitors can enjoy a colorful fireworks display that lights up the sky above the fair with a sea of colorful lights – a spectacle for young and old alike.

Rides & attractions – fairground fun for all generations

Whether you’re looking for thrills, family fun, or romantic rides on the Ferris wheel, the rides at the Lautrer Kerwe 2025 have something for everyone:

  • “Skater” (Kaiser)
Attention, daredevils! The “Skater” takes you high up with wild swinging movements and rotating gondolas – pure adrenaline and not for the faint-hearted!
  • “Best XXL Swing” (Zinnecker)
With a flight height of up to 45 meters and a whopping 4 G-forces, this high-altitude attraction is an absolute highlight – spectacular moments guaranteed.
  • “White Wheel” (Küchenmeister)
The large Ferris wheel not only offers a great view over the festival grounds, but also romantic moments at lofty heights – especially beautiful at sunset or during fireworks.
  • “XXL Polyp” (Massel)
A cult ride with impressive light, fire, and water effects – the rotating gondolas ensure a wild but fun ride for all ages.
  • “Breakdance” (Becker)
Rousing music, flashing lights, and rotating movements make this classic a perennial favorite for young people and those who are young at heart.
  • “Musikexpress” (Spangenberger)
A rapid roller coaster ride that makes the world spin – accompanied by the best music. A classic with cult status!

  • “Disco-Fieber” (Schramm)
Spin, dance, take off – the cult carousel brings plenty of momentum to the fair day with its centrifugal forces. This carousel really gets going!
  • “Glaswerk” (Hofmann)
An enchanting labyrinth of glass and mirrors that invites you to marvel, puzzle, and laugh – but be careful: the way out is harder than you think!
  • “Kuhnos Farm” (Weber)
The fully themed farm-style family roller coaster is the ideal adventure for young and old – lovingly designed, fast-paced, and wildly good!
  • “Superwellenflug” (Nickel)
A nostalgic chain flyer that gently carries visitors through the air – perfect for those who like it a little quieter, but no less beautiful.
  • Bumper cars
The meeting place for teenagers (and the young at heart) – here you can steer, bump and laugh. A must at every folk festival!
  • Children’s carousels & pony rides
For younger visitors, there are lovingly designed carousels and a pony riding arena – guaranteed to make children’s eyes light up!

Program highlights for young and old

On Monday, October 20, the 1st FCK Day will take place at the Kerwe. Anyone who shows up in an FCK jersey on this day will receive discounts at numerous stands and rides. In addition, a fan merchandise stand will ensure a red and white atmosphere on the square!

Wednesday, October 22, is a day dedicated to the family: Half-price rides and admission, as well as many special offers, make a visit particularly attractive. In addition, a balloon artist and face painting in front of the Ferris wheel will make children’s eyes light up.

As a thank you to all visitors and participants, a second large fireworks display on Monday, October 27, will crown the end of the Kerwe – an unforgettable final evening under a sparkling sky.

And what would the Kerwe be without treats? The smell of roasted almonds, freshly grilled pork knuckles, crispy chicken, crêpes, and many other culinary delights is in the air. People meet in the cozy beer gardens to chat over music and festival beer. Those looking for something special will find it in the “Shopping-Gässje” – creative products, jewelry, toys, and more await curious eyes here.
